Water
Water
During term one we learnt about water and discovered how precious this resource is. Jessica created an interactive notebook page to explain the water cycle.
Here are some excerpts from our writing about the Water Cycle.
Did you know that our fresh water is actually over a million years old. The water cycle is always moving it never stops. If we didn't have water we wouldn't be here today on Earth. -Pacey Torea
When water is on the ground it starts to disappear because it’s Evaporating back into the sky. It turns liquid into gas. This is the third part of the Water cycle. -Manaia Edgeworth-Fraser
Precipitation is when rain and other stuff has come down from the clouds. There are liquids and solids that come from the clouds. The liquid that come from the clouds is rain. Hail, snow and sleet are the solids.Precipitation is when water hits the earth. -Isaiah Waapu
To finish off the topic we had some fun with water and shared some facts.Click the link below to see our video

Term 1
The highlight of our first term together in room 11 would have to be our camp. The two days were packed with lots of activities which enabled us to make connections with each other as well as room 17.
Camp Writing
Excerpts from our writing about camp.
26th - 27th Feb 2015 were our
camp dates. Rooms 11 & 17 looked confused and scared as Miss Startup
announced that our “Amazing Camp” was going to be held at our own school !
-By Iraia Edwards
We started off with orienteering. Jane, our instructor, told us that we had three courses to complete. The first course was based in H.I.S and the second and third ones were based in Akina park and H.I.S. Orienteering tested my mental and physical ability but the next activity challenged my body temperature.

We lost the 2 first games but
then we adopted Shayden and won the last game. The score was 2-1. We lost. I think
we could have won without Shayden if the girls were not like ghosts. The whole
time most of the girls had their backs against the wall. For the first time
ever I finally caught out Psyris. That is a time I will never forget.
- Isaiah Waapu
In the end we all more than enjoyed the camp that was offered to us. It was also cheap and affordable. I personally really enjoyed this camp because it brought us and Rm 17 together. I wish we could do it again!
